This is a big day for many Survivors and Antique fans out there as 14 years ago today, Antique participated in the 46th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest held in Copenhagen with their entry “(I would) Die For You”! Greece’s entry reached 3rd place but went on to sell over 150k copies all around Europe reaching a multi-platinum status in Sweden and Greece!
Today, this entry is regarded by most Eurovision fans as the best entry from the 2001 contest and among the most iconic entries of the contest since its inception. It is also responsible for establishing Antique as a force to be reckoned with in Helena’s two home countries. Also for turning the lead singer of the group who was known as Elena (the “H” in her name was adopted for the sake of convenience during the Eurovision 2005 promo tour) at the time into a media sensation and a performer of incredible potential! For these aforementioned reasons, Helena’s #PaparizouForumSurvivors are forever thankful to Antique (Helena & Nikos), to the songwriters of the song (Nicos Terzis & Antonis Pappas), to the producers of the song (C&N project) and to every member of the Greek delegation as well as everyone involved in the creative process. Let’s celebrate this occasion with a wonderful throwback! #Eurovision60
